Pop superstar Dua Lipa is taking legal action against Samsung after claiming the tech giant used her image on television packaging without permission.
According to reports, the singer is seeking at least $15 million in damages, alleging that her likeness appeared on product packaging and promotional materials without authorization. The lawsuit also claims that Samsung continued using the image even after receiving cease-and-desist notices from representatives for the artist.
The case highlights the growing importance of image rights and celebrity licensing agreements in modern advertising and branding. High-profile artists and public figures often tightly control how their image is used commercially, especially in global marketing campaigns tied to major consumer products.
Neither Samsung nor representatives for Dua Lipa have publicly commented in detail on the ongoing legal dispute.
If successful, the lawsuit could become one of the more significant recent celebrity image-rights cases involving a major international brand.
