The internet woke up in chaos this morning after Canadian superstar Drake pulled off one of the biggest surprise releases in hip-hop history — dropping not one, but three full albums at the exact same time.
Fans were expecting the long-teased Iceman project, but Drake shocked listeners by also releasing Habibti and Maid of Honour alongside it, delivering more than two and a half hours of brand-new music overnight.
The Albums
Iceman
The centerpiece of the release, Iceman is being described as Drake’s major return to form. The album leans heavily into introspection, confidence, and the pressure that comes with staying at the top for over a decade. The rollout for Iceman had been building for months through cryptic livestreams, Toronto promo stunts, and teaser tracks.
Habibti
This project takes a slower, moodier direction with strong R&B and international influences. Early fan reactions online are calling it one of Drake’s smoothest late-night listens in years.
Maid of Honour
On the opposite side of the spectrum, Maid of Honour pushes toward club records, upbeat production, and experimental sounds. The album artwork reportedly features a younger photo of Drake’s mother, adding a more personal touch to the project.
Huge Features & Production
Across the three albums, Drake teams up with artists including Future, 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, and Central Cee, while production comes from heavy hitters like Boi-1da, Ovrkast, Riot, and more.
More Than Just Music
The release feels bigger than a normal album drop. Drake also premiered multiple music videos overnight, many filmed around his hometown of Toronto, helping turn the launch into a full cultural moment instead of just another streaming release.
The timing is especially important after the past two years of public rap battles, online criticism, and nonstop discussion surrounding his place in hip-hop. Many fans and critics are already calling this his most important release in years.
First Reactions
Social media has been exploding since midnight with fans debating:
- Which of the three albums is best
- The hardest bars on Iceman
- Surprise guest appearances
- Hidden references and possible subliminals
- Whether Drake just pulled off the biggest release stunt of the streaming era
One thing is clear — whether people love it or hate it, everyone is listening today.
Stream It Now
All three albums — Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour — are now available on all major streaming platforms.
